About Quick Gamepad Test
Quick Gamepad Test is a free online tool for checking game controllers and joysticks directly in your browser. It is designed for gamers, PC users, and anyone who wants to test controller buttons, sticks, triggers, vibration, and other inputs before using a controller in a game.
What We Built and Why
A controller can appear to work normally while still having problems such as stick drift, unresponsive buttons, inconsistent triggers, or unwanted vibration behavior. Often, it is difficult to know whether the problem comes from the controller, the game, or the computer.
We built Quick Gamepad Test to provide a simple way to check controller input without installing separate testing software. The goal is straightforward: connect your controller, open the tester, and see what the device is reporting in real time.
Instead of relying only on how a controller feels inside a particular game, you can use a gamepad tester to check individual buttons, analog sticks, triggers, and other supported inputs directly in the browser.
What You Can Test Here
Comprehensive Input Checks
Quick Gamepad Test lets you check the most important controller inputs in one place. You can test buttons and triggers, move the analog sticks, look for unwanted stick movement, and check whether supported controllers respond to vibration or rumble tests.
Broad Device Support
The tester can be useful for Xbox controllers, PlayStation controllers such as PS4 and PS5 DualSense models, Switch Pro controllers, USB gamepads, Bluetooth controllers, and other compatible devices.
Dedicated Specialist Tools
You can start with the main Gamepad Tester on the homepage and use the available controller and joystick testing pages for more specific checks, including stick drift, vibration, input response, and other controller behavior.
How the Tester Works
Direct Real-Time Communication
Quick Gamepad Test uses the browser's Gamepad API to read supported controller inputs. When you connect a compatible gamepad and interact with it, the browser can expose information such as button states, trigger values, and analog stick axis values to the tester.
The testing happens through your browser on your device. This makes it possible to check a controller without installing a dedicated desktop testing application.
Hardware & API Scope
However, a browser-based gamepad tester has limits. It cannot reliably diagnose every part of a controller's hardware or firmware. For example, battery health, firmware problems, some gyro features, adaptive trigger behavior, and other manufacturer-specific functions may require the manufacturer's software or another specialized diagnostic tool.
Our goal is to show the controller information that the browser can actually access rather than claim that a browser test can diagnose every possible hardware problem.
Our Commitment to Accuracy
We aim to keep Quick Gamepad Test practical, clear, and honest about what the tester can and cannot measure. Controller behavior can vary between devices, operating systems, browsers, connection methods, and controller models, so results should be interpreted in the context of the device being tested.
When we identify a compatibility problem, inaccurate information, or a broken test, we work to correct it. We also avoid presenting browser-based measurements as laboratory-grade hardware measurements when they are not.
If you find an incorrect result, compatibility issue, or other problem with the tester, please contact us with details about your controller, browser, and the issue you experienced. Your feedback helps us improve the testing experience.
